About Netminder Strong

Netminder Strong is the byproduct of a lifetime of both playing hockey and coaching goaltenders. I started playing goal when I was six years old in Central Massachusetts. We played community based hockey through Pee Wee, then progressed to Bantam and Midget AA, Catholic High School, Division 1 College, and then finally minor leagues and professional hockey.

After hockey, a business career relocated me to MN where my wife and I raised our family. I was fortunate to be able to continue my love affair with this great sport by coaching its' most challenging position: goaltending.

As a goalie coach, I was honored to be part of eight MN State Highschool Boys Hockey Tournaments. Our teams won four Championships (three in "A" small schools, one in "AA" large schools), three 3rd place finishes, and one 5th place. Just getting to the MN State High School Tournament was an honor, never mind winning a handful.
We won championships for many reasons, but each was backboned by great goaltending. I witnessed goalies graduate, then collectively play in the NAHL, USHL, NCAA D1 & D3,  NHL, AHL, DEL (Germany), and ECHL. Those same goalies won Championships at some of these levels and some won All-American honors, secured NHL contracts, won Ivy League titles, Hockey East League championships and the coveted Beanpot Championship. One even won the DEL Championship twice and earned a spot on the German Olympic team.

What my on-line service attempts to provide young goaltenders from Highschool and Junior ages through college and pro are tools they can use in collaboration with their own goalie and team coaches.  The primary focus of Netminder Strong is to help them be more mentally prepared and confident on and off the ice. We establish a realistic core set of beliefs, set goals, then strive to achieve them, all while keeping the single most important aspect of hockey in mind: fun.  I'm certain that Netminder Strong services are not for everyone. They are however, an honest attempt at helping today's netminders build a stronger image of themselves and produce results that empower them to be their very best.
